Hot D Nan Daids
However, you probably wouldn't know he is saying that from what
actually comes out of his mouth... Hot D (or hot dididiggity) Nan
Daids.
I found these at his favorite store, Hi!!!!! Veee!!!! (HyVee) and
decided he might need them since he falls so often. He told me he
needed them for his shots, which were actually a few inches ABOVE his
knee!

Which is translated "I am counting the white beans."
He counts saying nine, schinta, nine. I am not sure why. But those
are his couting words! He notices numbers a lot these days and says
those words to let us know he knows they are numbers, but he will call
only the actual number 9 in print a 9.

Daily Dose of Daniel - May 21
this elated since Christmas Eve! Well, perhaps that is untrue. He
gets this excited about watching Mickey Mouse, eating chocolate,
riding on tractors, and being silly with grandpas. He is a very
exciteable young man!

We thought the recorder was a great idea... at the time! He really enjoys it though. I expected him to enjoy the play dough, but he does not. He did love the BINKS - notice how excited he is about them.

Daniel loves working. He wants to do the tasks we are doing and would much prefer to help us than to play alone. Therefore, he has had practice with house chores and doing other procedural tasks. Here is a longer movie of DHH working on his dad's tools. He is using a small brush to clean some equipment. I especially like how focused he is and how he keeps trying to hang the brush up when he is done.
DDD for May 20
sister is doing. He usually gives her pats, hugs, and identifies her
facial features each time he sees her, too. He usually calls her
See-See, but sometimes says Sissy, She-She, DeeDee (baby), and Elsie.

Favorite Hobby: Water Play
While we visited my parents, Daniel got the chance to use a new sink to do some of his favorite activities: pouring and filling.
These are some new jammies. He is adorable in them!
So focused here.
I was cleaning up some of our mess in the house and every so often, Daniel would call for me. "Mama! Mommeee! Mommeeeee!".
I'd come to him and he'd point and say, "Bup!"
"You want another cup, baby?".
"Uh-huh!"
Aside from his soaked shirt and a bit of water on the floor, it actually not that messy of an activity! I prefer it to sandboxes and mudpuddles!

After Daniel came home from his Douglas grandparents, he needed some Mama alone time. Without the baby. So we did one of his favorite things... cooking! And also sprinkles... and eating...

I'm Glad You Were Born Contest Entry
A blog I follow had a comment contest on the topic of I'm Glad You Were Born. I think I tell you this weekly and try to show you I feel this way each day. Son: I am SO GLAD you were born.
Here is the comment I left.
I am so glad you were born, dear children. I delight in your charm and beauty and find a renewed sense of meaning for my life when we are together as a family of four. Though motherhood was not an original ambition I set for my life, each day I set a goal to be the best mom I can be for you two, which includes being emotionally and physically present for you receptive to how you show me love.
Son: I am thankful for our twenty one month relationship together. You light up my life and bring joy to our home.
Daughter: I am eagerly anticipating our life together, too. Three weeks is a short time to be your mother and thus I am giddy with the thought of being blessed by you for the rest of my life.

EE - May 2
3 oz and was in the 50% for height and weight (head was 70%, where as
DHH's was 95% at this age!) The doctor said she is the picture of
newborn health.
DDD May 5, 2011
puffs some air to refer to them in conversation. This is also his
favorite outfit lately - it goes in the wash and gets put back on a
few more times the same week!
