Daniel's Sledding Adventure, Take 2

Last year, we took Daniel out in the snow for a short sleigh ride.  He sat upright in his Bumbo chair, inside a laundry basket.  It was cute.  He made no real expression of delight or fright last year.

This year, he got a sled from his Haid grandparents' house Christmas.  It is a tiny little thing, a lot like a bumper car.  It requires a parent to pull the sled, too.  Its really safe and really, really silly looking to see him in it!

We were eager for him to try it out.  He looked SO CUTE all bundled up!

However, we knew we were going to have a rough time getting him to do this trick for us.  He didn't want to step a foot into the snow, and he wasn't interested in us putting him down when we were standing in the snow.

Dislikes: Showers

Daniel loves baths... ones in his tiny tub, in grandmothers' sinks, and in the full sized tubs.  I thought he might like showers, too.  Boy, was I wrong!

At four months, showers might be his Most Hated Thing.  I needed to shower, and since Dan was away, I thought I would try out Daniel in the shower, using his Bumbo chair for sitting.  Once the shower water was turned on, he began crying. screaming.

Screaming as if he were never more terrified or angry in his life!    I quickly picked him up to cuddle him, which worked.  He was comforted.  I a few moments later, I put him back in the Bumbo.  Again, screaming ensued! I rinsed the shampoo out of my hair and decided to cut my losses. 

We went back in to his cozy room for some loitioning and reading time.  He smiled and was back to his usual cheerful self.
