Last month, Daniel picked up on the fact that his dad's name is Dan. I was hollering for Dan to come help us with something, and Daniel copied me.
"Daaaaaaaan!" I said.
"Dannnnnnnnnnne! Daaaaaaaaaang!" he said.
Last night Dan asked Daniel what Mommy's name is. He said, "Bes-shagee." I love it!!!
So as a recap, our family's names according to Daniel are:
Dane/Dang
Bes-shagee
Elsie/Eshie
DD
Ee-shee (Rachie)
Nanny
Poppy
Ha-nah - (Ayhan)
Uncle Wessie/Fessie
Zekey/Popzekie
Deck-EE
HayEE
We're working on some more of the family member's names! I can't wait to hear what he calls the rest of our family!

Favorite Snack and Favorite Morning Activity.
Graham Crackers and Reading.
Which makes me wonder if we should have named him an alternate name - one that I loved - Graham Reid. It was on my short list of wonderful names, for sure. I liked that I met his dad at the university near Graham Hall and that each of us lived there during two years of our dating relationship. And I love the name Reid and the way it sounds, as well as the homophone meaning. We nixed Reid because of how it looked and was spelled compared to our last name of Haid. It would be said Ride Haid or Reid Hayd, and both are wrong.
Here are cute photos of my little boy.

A Name for Baby H: Suggestions Take 2
Our cousin Tyler has been thinking up a name or middle name for Baby H for months. He texts (texases) them to me on a daily basis, when they come to him.
Here's a list of his suggestions:
Here's a list of his suggestions:
- Davy
- Kart (Kurt?)
- Huntson
- Doron (Darren?)
- Gorden
- Martin
- Karson
- Handler (Chandler?)
- Floyd
- Mason
- Stodson
- Henrey (Henry?)
- Nathan Gordon
- Jake Ty
- Leadder
- Nate
- Anne Ray (if he is a girl)
- Prassley Char (if he is a girl)
- Bradley
Note: Dan's family is not so good at texting. They call it "texas message". Tyler is also not a huge spelling fan. All his messages are spelled in the fastest possible way - which means they sometimes don't make sense. So I don't know if Doron is a real name suggestion, or if it isn't supposed to rhyme with Moron!
So far, Dan's cousins Ty and Lucas are the two who are coming up with the most name possibilities for the little man. I think our doctor might have suggested "Grant", after him, and my female students have a whole list of names they want me to use on this baby, even though the names they give me are their NAMES they've chosen. I'll post about those later, when I have a list made up, because they are interesting.

Name Suggestion - Uncle Larry
Here's evidence that our son will have interesting and creative influences in his life.
Uncle Larry suggests naming him:
Uncle Larry suggests naming him:
RINGO LUDWIG HAID
Ringo is unforgettable and Ludwig is the brand of drums he plays.
People will say " RINGO son of BOOBAA"
Doesn't make any sense to you? Well, I guess you aren't a Landolt. Or a Haid. Or from Hermann. Or a little nuts. :o)
So, yes, little baby, just wait until you meet Uncle Larry and he calls you by that name, regardless of what you are actually named. It will be an interesting and creative day, I am sure!

Name Suggestions from Cousin Lucas
1. Craighead
2. Olaf
3. Enew
4. Lucas Remington
5. Butch
6. Jameer
7. DeMarcus
8. JaMarcus
9. Kayden (scratched out)
10. Kaiden (scratched out)
11. Kip
12. Dwyane
13. Kaiten (scratched out)
14. Canden
15. (blank, will finish this later)
When we told our Landolt family about the baby, Lucas ran to get a pen and paper. He started making a list of names for us to choose from. Choice 4 is his own name, and the others sound like... interesting choices. There were a number of names that didn't make his list, such as Abdul, Anis, and Henry. The only thing they have in common is that they are all male.
Re: cousin Lucas is a very clever sixth grader. Or maybe seventh. I am not sure. He's so clever, caring, and funny that choosing #4 as a name choice would be a huge compliment for the baby.
