DDD for January 24

This photo was taken by the camera on our computer. Daniel has
started to LOVE being at the computer and begs or forces his way up
into our laps if we have made the unwise decision to check email,
facebook, etc while home during the day with him. He is not
interested in looking at these websites. He wants to watch only a few
things: 1) himself on the webcam (its like a mirror for him, I
suppose) 2) movies of himself as a younger baby, 3) youtube movies of
cats, 4) a slideshow of photos taken during the last month. If I take
him off of my lap, he gets so upset. If I turn off one of these
viewing options, he gets upset. If I do not let him finish watching
the entire stream of photos... he gets upset.
He is really, really happy when watching himself (or cats) on the
computer and is learning NOT to touch the keyboard. I am not very
interested in teaching him the educational websites or games because
it would mean he would be hooked on the computer! And we don't need
that at 17 months old.... :)

DDD for December 22

Our son really loves being near our Christmas tree. He is pretty good
about touching the ornaments with only one finger, and he rarely does
more than flick an ornament to make it jingle or to watch the pine
needles cascade in puddles on the floor.

One morning last week, I asked him to sit in front of it and smile.
AND HE DID. Here is proof that he listens to directions (at least
some of the time!).

He is such a merry old soul. What a perfect Christmas gift!

DDD for November 18, 2010

I hope to get caught up today on all of the DDDs I've missed due to a

week of sickness.

Here is how I found Daniel this morning. It is after 8 AM and he is STILL sleeping! 

 This is pretty rare for him. I have never noticed him sleeping with a stuffed animal like this, either. Oh... and he is SNORING! How funny!

DDD for Wednesday, November 17

This is Daniel's latest hobby. He is so fascinated by taking objects in and out of containers.

DDD for Tuesday, November 16

Daniel loves muffins! He helped me make this batch of muffins, too.

He poured in the ingredients I had pre-measured and stirred them. He

also put the cupcake papers in the muffin tin. He did NOT like

waiting for them to bake, but turning the light on the oven seemed to

help him relax! When they cooled, he ate four of them. He REALLY

likes muffins!

He is also saying, "HOT!".  He really is good at warning me about the temperature of our oven and other hot things.

Daniel likes to put things on his hiands these days. He shouts, "ON!"

and "OFF!" during this process.

His dad pushed him high on the swings! This made him laugh and laugh.

He loved that we were chasing him back and forth in the slide. You can

bet that squeals of delight were coming out of that open mouth!

Learned to suck from a sippy cup this week.  He's pretty pleased with the result.

DDD - 3/21 - Favorite Time of Day

There are so many giggles echoing in the bath at our house around 6 PM.  This is bath time and it is also laugh time for both parents and child.
