A NOT Fabulous Adventure with Daniel

Daniel, I haven't used this phrase lately, but I am today.
You wear me slick.
Today we took a car trip to visit my parents, Nanny and Poppy.
You whined for fifteen minutes.
You cried for five more.
You screamed like a banshee for fifteen more minutes.
You wailed for Nanny until we pulled into her driveway.
Then you were happy to see them and gave them big squeezes.

I got a big headache from you.

We need to work on your VOLUME and patience, baby.

Silly face.

DDD June 23

Daniel wanted us to go on a walk last night. He told us "Mommy, Dada,
Walk! DeeDee up! Ride!" He wanted to get in the Ergo carrier and
tried to say Back Pack. He was so happy to be in it and hugging me...
for the first half mile. Then he wanted down to walk and run. He
walked the rest of the way home, while I pushed Elsa in the stroller.

He is saying, "Waff-waff".
Because that is what he wants for EVERY meal. He wants two waffles,
each with almond butter and strawberry jelly. He also wants one cup of
iced tea ("I Teeeee") and some chocolate milk ("choc").

A Not So Green Thumb

In April, we planted some bean seeds in this nifty biodegradable container garden.
In May, they sprouted and grew.
In June, we forgot to water and they dried up. :o(

Here are some cute photos of DHH planting them.  He's wearing a sweatshirt which seems so odd now... but it was chilly for most of April. Its anything BUT chilly now in June!

He had to use so much focus and patience to put the soil cubes in the planter, to poke seeds down inside, and to use a watering can.  It was precious to watch!

Another Daniel photo...

I couldn't resist, he was just so cute.

Daily Dose of Daniel June 15

He asked to "Hug Elsie". It was precious! He held her for about five
seconds, which was long enough to take a few pictures! He was more
enthusiastic about this encounter than she was.

More Hot Weather Splashy Fun

Daniel's friend Taylor (he calls her Tee) came to play one morning during the heat wave of early June.  It was easily 90 degrees at 10 AM!  It meant it was time for the pool!

As you can see from the photos, there was a lot of pouring, splashing, and dumping of water on this morning!

DHH and his Aunties

He had a lot of giggles with his mama's two sisters on Saturday.
He was at a family birthday party, but as happy as he was, maybe he thought it was a party for him!
His aunts weren't afraid to tickle, wrestle, and get rowdy with their only (silly) nephew.

And they enjoyed his company, too.

Daniel's first pretending game... he pretends to be a dog. He barks,
licks, pants, and yells DAWGUH.

Play Dough Fun!

I bought Daniel some eggs filled with pastel play dough at Easter.  He has been disinterested in it... until this week!  His friend Taylor came over to play and taught him how to have fun with the play dough.  Instead of hissing at it (because we made snakes with the play dough first he assumed it was for or about snakes!), he touched the play dough and used the tools to touch the play dough.  In fact, he seemed to enjoy the play dough more than Taylor!  She was done after fifteen minutes, but he played longer.

We used tiny cookie cutters (actually, they are pie crust shape cutters, but its not like I bake  many any pies)

He used a pan scraper tool to etch the play dough cookies.

Tay used an orange peeler to make designs.

Both children were very focused on making their cookies.

The tin box for the cutters became the oven to bake the cookies.

We "borrowed" EK's Green Toy Tea Set (recent gift from kind Ms. Sue) to have a cookie party.

Tay served the cookies.

DHH poured the drinks.

It was a wonderful morning activity!

Note: Son, you probably should wear a shirt for future coed parties, okay?
