DDD 3-20-12

Daniel watching his grandfather and dad clear limbs in his Great
Grandma Haid's yard.

DDD 3-19-20

Daniel loved exploring daffodils at a garden park the other day. He
called the park "Flower Park" and as asked to go back every day!

DDD 3-16-12

Daniel was so eager to try these shears. He kept pushing on his dad
saying, "Daniel do that, Daniel do that now". After some instruction,
he was permitted to do it. He LOVES yard work and tools.

Daniel on the Phone

And note: the phone is usually not a phone. It can be a wooden block, a cup, a shoe, or nothing at all.

He will say something like this:

Send email a Daddy.

Okay, call you back. Bye.

Evidence for Musical Ability?

Daniel was in heaven being allowed to pick on different instruments at
our church this weekend. Other children shied away from this, but he
could not get enough! He seemed to be a natural - not necessarily
natural talent, but certainly natural enjoyment!

Play Accomplishment

Daniel stacked 7 alphabet blocks on top of each other in a tower in a tiny dump truck.  They did not fall over.  We were impressed.

DDD 3-12-12

I haven't sent out the last ten days of DDDs, and I'll post them on
his blog and on facebook. If you want me to email them to you, I sure
will! Let me know.

Daniel-isms, February - March 2012

What's that cowl-led (called)

Elsie/Mama/Daddy know dat?

Mama do it all herself, no Dan-nol help.

Dannol SO HONgry.

Easter Cotton Tail (what he calls Peter Rabbit)

Rain Brella (umbrella)

Raindrop (Daddy's Sundrop soda)
Snowdrop (winter Pepsi cans)

I don't even care, not a wee bit.  Does mama care a wee bit?  Wee bit is like Wocket in Pocket book.

DDD 3-3-12

Daniel wants to peek through everything these days - paper towel
tubes, vacuum pipes, holes in neighborhood fences, and through
windows. "Daniel do peek, mama?" is what he says.

DDD and EE for 3-2-12

Elsa and Daniel worked together picking up paper shapes to place on
their sticky window. They didn't fight over the same piece, which is
rare.

DDD 3-1-12

Lunching on the patio. He tried mac and cheese for the first time,
and it probably was so popular because it was from HyVee.

DDD 2-29-12

He kept pushing his dad's hands off from the steering wheel and saying
he knew how to do it all by himself. And he did... he understood how
to turn the wheel to make the tractor go where his dad asked him too.

DDD 2-28-12

This is a target in a field at my parents' house. Daniel counted all
the holes the bullet made, even finding some in the tree trunk. He is
getting much better at counting past ten and counting one for one -
one number, one item.

DDD 2-27-12

He climbed up onto this stump to show me where the chainsaw had done
its work. Then he said he was "tending to be a tree".

DDD 2-26-12

Daniel knows very well how to operate the bucket on my father's
tractor. He picks up on how machines work much more quickly than I
do.

DDD 2-25-12

He looks so much older with the shorter hair cut.

DDD 2-24-12

He's always in a good mood when he is thinking of a joke to play on
one of us! "Just kidding. Daniel only KIDDING, mama!"

DDD 2-23-12

This hat was made for Daniel for Christmas 2009 by Great Grandma Landolt.

DDD 2-22-12

A very sweet hug goodbye before going on a weekend to Nanny and Poppy
Douglas's house.

DDD and EE from 2-21-12

Both kids enjoy sitting in Elsa's play yard. Daniel can climb in and
out by himself.
