Lincoln Log Play

Lincoln logs are a playtime staple in Daniel's room. They were a Christmas gift and he uses them to build sawmills, steel mills, Sodor Steam Works, play houses, real houses, and play forts. He has learned to build them by himself, too. We are really impressed by his design ideas, which today included a human door, dog door, pantry, and closet with a safe in a play house.

Obsession: Tiny Babies

I am friends with Lincoln and Gregory and Elsa and basically all tiny babies. I love every tiny baby and call them my friends. They are so previous and sweet to me, and I love our new tiny baby in your tummy mommy, too.

Really Useful Child

Daniela's favorite shows are Mighty Machines and Thomas and Friends. Both have characters that seek to be really helpful and do jobs for others.

So of course I use this for getting Daniel to participate in house work. The best part is is that it doesn't feel like I am manipulating him. He says, "yes boss! Time to get the job done!" And starts out doing. It.

Like 40% of the time, anyway.
Other times he is distracted by a toy, another task, starts singing and playing, or totally forgets.
Or says,"no thank you for that job."

But the 40% of the time is golden.

Helping House Sale

When Daniel saw the sign go in the ground he said, "Hey!! We aren't for sale yet!!! We have to wait for the new baby first!!!"

He accepted the sign when he got to help with it. He enjoyed pointing out the letters and numbers he recognized.
