Eating Eggs.
The sitter told me that Daniel likes scrambled eggs. I decided to make some for his lunch yesterday. He copies everything we do, so of course he blew on his food to make sure it was cool enough! He used a fork for most of the meal, too.

First Orchard Visit
And it was spent eating and trotting around the trees.
He ate three apples while we were there.
He slipped in the mud a lot, too.
We went with our friends the Dorrs and several Korean families I work with.
The kids enjoyed chasing and holding Daniel while I picked some apples.
He enjoyed watching everything.
And eating.
Next year, I think he will be an even bigger helper!

I Got the Hint, Daniel. You Need a Snack.

DDD for Monday, Sept. 27
He was giving me this funny look when some birds flew by the park.
Can you notice the wisp of hair blowing in the breeze?

Fits.
Here is what Daniel's 13 month old major behavior problem looks like.
Arching his back.
Wailing on the floor.
Getting up after a few seconds and trying the naughty thing he wanted to do before he was corrected again.
Cycle repeats at least once.

Neat Things Daniel Is Doing
He is moving all the time. Even when he is standing up in one place, he is shuffling his feet and swaying.
He is trying to read books to himself these days. He uses a really loud voice for his out loud reading voice.
He pushes a push car like I push his stroller. He balances a cup on the handle bars, a lot like a stroller.
He tries to sneak up on us or peeks around the corner at us. He thinks its really funny.
He recognizes photos of us around the house and points to them, usually pointing out his dad.
He prefers to feed himself with baby forks and spoons. If he is being picky with the food we are having, we just spear it on a small fork and he will eat it.
He is throwing less fits when he does not get his way, or else they are shorter in duration.
He changed our clock radio station to big band music. He laughs, dances, and sings to it. Its really cute.
He is playing by himself more often. Sometimes he needs our help and whines for us, but usually he is content doing his own thing in his "toy corner".
If he is away from one of us for awhile, the next time he sees us he is elated. He really really likes us. Especially if we've been out of the room or at work. Its a nice feeling.
He pats us on the back when he hugs us.
He gives many unsolicited kisses. Sometimes we have to say, "Don't kiss with your teeth, baby."
He looks out the windows a lot and calls at people or cars.
He can identify many things around the house - couch, door, bath, flag, flower, etc.
When he is hungry he comes up to his chair in the kitchen and grunts.

DDD 9/26/10
Daniel really enjoys eating apples these days. He had three while we
were in the orchard on Friday. I has had at least one everyday
since. He likes to carry it cradled in his arms between bites. He
carried one around for 45 minutes yesterday!

DDD - 9/24/10
When we went to a park yesterday, he was most excited about climbing
on the benches... not the equipment! He climbed every bench many
times.

A New Game: Race Cars
Daniel has started to take interest in his push car again, after neglecting it for 2 months. Now he runs with this thing, steers it past obstacles, and makes laps in our house. He can do it for a long time! Its nearly as fun for us to watch him careen around the corner and listen to his squeals of delight.
DDD for Wednesday, September 22
He devoured an entire slice of pizza, layer by layer, with most of the
sauce on his face. What a fun thing to watch!
