Rain play

We went to a fish fry for my Uncle's business this weekend. It was rainy, but that did not deter him from the playground. He rode his bike around until we were finished eating - he didn'thave much use for the food at the fish fry - and then he led the way to the playground.

Sharing Rock Box

Daniel and Elsa had a good time playing at my parents' house last week.  They fought over some of the toys like the car, balls, and swingset because they were so each excited to use them.  They did not fight over the rock box and played next to each other for awhile.

Preschool Play

We often do activities we call Preschool during Elsa's morning nap.  Today we worked on cutting and gluing. He was so interested in both that we had to add extra lines on the paper to cut and glue other items into his preschool notebook.

Daniel and Sibling

We visited the OB today for an ultrasound.  The kids came too.  Daniel was so interested in the baby wiggling on the screen.  He talks to the baby often and asks him to grow healthy and not make me feel sick.  He wants to know everything about the baby and when it is hungry and tired and what it is playing with right now.  He also asks to be there with me when the "baby crawls out".   We do read many books about pregnancy to him, so he does have a better than average knowledge of babies, I think.

Daniel really enjoys time on the iPhone.  He and I watched Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood on the porch while his sister napped.  We also made short video texts to his friend Lincoln, who he has missed over the summer.
He knows how to use the iPhone pretty well, and even took this photo himself.

Grandma Becky was coming that afternoon to pick up the kids.  Daniel couldn't wait and decided he needed to drive Elsa to her house himself.  Both kids want to sit in the driver's seat any chance they get.

A Daniel Like: Chil's Restaurant

Yeah!! Finally we got to go to Chili's for supper!!  We went to vote, and then I used my extra cash to buy us supper at Daniel's and my favorite restaurant.  He was so excited he only ate one piece of his pizza. When we were done, he ran circles around the benches outside and told me how happy and thankful he was that we could go out for dinner to Chili's.

Opening Packages

These packages arrived via "QRS Truck".  Daniel knew just what to do. He grabbed the kitchen knife and started opening them up.  They were a package of laundry soap, a gift for him, and a book for his dad.

Painting with Skill

Daniel is learning how to use the entire space of a canvas to paint.  He is also getting better at using the same brush for the same color, rather than mixing everything together and having a brown painting.

We painted for a long time and he told the story of each painting he made as he was painting.  One was an ocean, one was a crazy house with a mailbox and pool, one was of Shelter Gardens, and one was of swirls.  We sent the paintings with birthday thank you cards.

Pizza Dough Play

Daniel loves to go to Shakespeare's pizza.  We took his grandma to Shakespeare's for lunch, and after we finished eating the kids were not ready to leave yet.  We sat on the patio and played pizza dough for twenty minutes.  It was a really fun time for Daniel.
