Yes, That Is Correct.

My boy is standing on a chair instead of in his fancy Helper Tower.
He is licking a knife (!) that has almond butter on it.

And

He kept those dino undies dry all morning.
Lots of, "No, mamabethany, not pee time."
And then finally,
"Yes, pee time, mamabethany."

Of cousre, there are many messes, and he seems to like the Mickey
Mouse undies best, over the $15 padded fancy trainers from Blueberry,
which are very accident friendly. But its going.

"No Dee Dee DIE-per mommy. Undies. Dee Dee no pee in undies."
After a year and a few months of potty learning, I see some fruit in
our less than aggressive stance!

DDD December 15

Look who wants to wear undies each morning!

Creativity, Stifled.

I wasn't keen on Daniel wanting to do coloring books because I didn't want him limited. However, I think this is totally NOT the case.  He is not able to draw realistically, so being able to color a real car or a cartoon duck is really appealing to him.  He LOVES coloring books!

He found one downstairs at my parents' house, and was instantly attracted.  He spent probably over an hour over the course of two days coloring, which is a long segment of time for a child of two.  He asked if we had a color book here at home, and I found one for him!

I hope when he gets more fine motor skills he'll be as thrilled with a blank sketchbook as a color book!

DDD December 8

Daniel tried out coloring books this week. He really enjoys them.

DDD for December 7

"Up a ladder! Lights on Dee Dee's houf!"

DDD for December 6

Daniel thought it would be funny to get packed into my suitcase! He
was right. It was really funny!

DDD December 5

Daniel installed (and reinstalls) this candy cane Christmas light all
by himself.

DDD November 27

Over Thanksgiving while everyone else digested their turkey, Daniel
decided it would be more fun to take a tractor ride.

DDD for November 26

Another catch-up DDD...

Daniel was delighted by the sight of his old friends, Goofy and
Donald, when he watched the cartoon on his grandparents' "big, huge,
NannyPoppy TV."

DDD for November 25

A little late, but better than never! Daniel "helps" Aunt Rachel with
thanksgiving cookies.

DDD for December 4

We've got a clapper system hooked up to the Christmas tree lights. We
showed Daniel it this morning, and showed him how to turn the lights
on by clapping twice. Then we asked him to turn the tree on. He
said, "Turn on, tree!" Then he yelled it when the tree did not
respond. We told him to ask the tree nicely. He said quietly and
politely, "Turn on, please." The rhythm of his voice turned the tree
on! He's been trying to do it ever since, but he has a tough time
since he doesn't do just two claps, it sounds more like a round of
applause.

DDD for December 3

Daniel watched his dad put lights on top the roof on Thursday evening.

DDD December 1, 2011

Our first day of December had a new gift - a nativity scene to play
with. Daniel loved it, especially the donkey and the cart.
