Baby Brother's Biggest Fan

DHH wants to be as helpful as possible and involved as possible with Benjamin.

During my hospital stay he fed him bottles and was so proud to help.

He also wants to hold "that most precious babe in the world" often and "little Ben Ben Button" doesn't mind the extra cuddles, volume, or nicknames.

iPhone photo

This is photo Daniel took of Elsa and her birthday cake.

I gave him iPhone to prevent him from taking over and blowing out al the candles. It worked for distraction but not for great image capturing! Luckily I took photos, too.

Reading with Nanny in Backyard

Hot Wheels with Elsie

Wooden floors at excellent for hotwheels, we've found. He played with Elsa so good for a few hours with the tracks. They had fun together.

Fence Climing

At Stephens Lake Spray Park. June 2013.
He is really interested in climbing up and over fences these days.

Picnic at Shelter Gardens

Just a Wednesday hanging out with the family.
Daniel ate Mac and cheese from HyVee. Elsa and I had sushi.  I came to this park when I was a little girl for picnics with my mom and aunt.

Driving Grandpa Poppy Douglas's Tractor

June 2013, steering by himself with Dad's supervision.

Birthday Party Food Planning

I took notes on our birthday conversation.  This is his chosen menu.

I think the cake is a reference to a Daniel Tiger episode.

Helpful

I am sick, and Daniel has come to me twice today to ask if he can get me anything at all to help, because he likes to help and he just loves me oh so much.

(So sweet!!)

Painting Birdhouses

This is one of DHHs all time fav activities. He has such focus and dedication to the project. Also: always opts for blue paint.

Name Writing practice

DHH's penmanship has stalled for a year or so. He can make d and h letters that are enormous, but that's a close to writing as he's come.  Recently I hav felt concern that he's not ready for preschool so I am trying to provide opportunities for writing each day.  I discovered he likes to use sharpie and likes to sit on my lap and write. So we practice that way. Right now he likes to wrote lowercase I.

Popsicles at breakfast

Daniel doesn't have a sore throat, but is enjoying them as much as I am!

Blue ones are his favorite, of course.
